Hi, this is Emily Shepherd.
Before I became a freelance editor, I was a wildlife field-technician and wildland firefighter. I worked in this field for a decade—counting endangered birds, measuring plant biodiversity, and fighting wildfire. During this time, I couldn’t decide on a single pathway for my career. Every conservation project seemed all-important, so I became an editor.
Now, I support all these projects and more. Information is the lifeblood of cooperation and progress, and my editorial services help people amplify the reach and resonance of their best ideas. I have a bachelor’s degree in wildlife management and a master’s degree in science writing.
I also write news, features, and essays.
